In Luther’s Small Catechism, he reminds us that the power of God is given through His Holy Word. It is the power of the Word that makes Baptism a "life-giving water, rich in mercy and grace." It is the power of the Word that connects the bread and wine with the body and blood of Jesus Christ, who feeds us for spiritual refreshment and strength. It is God’s Word that we are to "hear, read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest . . . that by patience of comfort of Thy Holy Word we may embrace, and ever hold fast, the blessed hope of everlasting life" which God has given us in Christ Jesus. (Collect for the Word). If you desire to grow stronger in your faith, if you want to more fully and faithfully follow your Lord Jesus Christ, if you want His life and His light to shine through you in your family and in all your relationships, all these things come through a study of the Word of God. We invite you to join one of our many Bible Study groups to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. As our God causes the earth to grow, bloom, and blossom during the summer months, why not let His word of truth bring about the same growth in your heart and soul? Join a Bible study and see what God will do!

Sunday Adult Bible Classes "Go and make Disciples..." This was the call of Jesus to his disciples in the Great Commission at the end of the Gospel of Matthew, and we are called still today to do the very same thing...to go and make disciples of Jesus Christ, sharing the life-giving Gospel with them. Vicar James is doing an Adult Bible class focusing on out mission as a congregation to reach out to those in our community who do not know Jesus as their Savior. We will be looking at the Who, What, Where, When, Why and How of evangelism and sharing the Gospel. This study is open to everybody and we want to invite you to come and learn about sharing the light of the Gospel with people living in a world filled with darkness. Why not come and join the class? We meet in the Family Life Center at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday.. Beginning April 20th "Resurrecting the Past" This is exactly what archeologists do. They dig up artifacts from past centuries of mankind's existence on earth. Was Pontius Pilate a "real" person who handed Jesus over to be crucified? Is there any evidence of the existence of Caiaphas, the High Priest who plotted to have Jesus put to death? In this Bible Study we will look at archeological evidence as it intersects with different Biblical texts that will help enlighten us as to the very "historicity" of the holy Scriptures.
Also, don’t forget the fellowship time on the first Sunday of the month—with donuts, juice, and coffee! Come on down and get to know better your church family. Come on down and get to know better your church family.

These and many other Proverbs from chapter 16 and following will be discussed on Wednesday mornings during the month of April. The group meets at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday mornings in the Gathering Room. We pray for one another and others in need. We rejoice in Christ in song. We grow in knowing Christ. We pray, eat a good breakfast, have wonderful fellowship, and study God's Word together! All men are welcome to attend this study before heading off to work. It takes place every Friday morning, beginning at 6:30 a.m. in the church Fellowship Hall. What a wonderful way to begin the day!! The Mormon religion seeks to identify itself as Christian. Yet, it has many doctrines that are contrary to the historic Christian faith and the teaching of Holy Scripture. We will be discussing many of these doctrines during the month of April. "Religions of the World" is the topic chosen for our study, False religions and false gods have been around from early on in the history of the Bible. We'll take a look at some still around today. We would like to invite you to come and join us for this great time of fellowship and learning on Friday mornings.

Strengthening Christian Marriage How's your marriage going? What does it mean to have a distinctively "Christian" marriage? What makes a marriage a great blessing? What things try to destroy the blessing our God intends us to have in our marriages? These topics and issues will be discussed from a Biblical perspective in a 7-week study intended to strengthen out Christian marriages. Is your marriage a great marriage? Please come and share with others what makes it so special. Is your marriage good... but could be better? Come and share your joys byt also learn what could strengthen your marriage. Is your marriage struggling? Come and take this first step to making it better. In other words, this class is for all Christian couples who want to grow in their relationship with each other even as they grow in their relationship with Christ. This class will be led by Pastor Bender and will begin on Sunday, February 17th and run through Sunday March 16th. The class will meet in the Gathering Room.
