In Luther’s Small Catechism, he reminds us that the power of God is given through His Holy Word. It is the power of the Word that makes Baptism a "life-giving water, rich in mercy and grace." It is the power of the Word that connects the bread and wine with the body and blood of Jesus Christ, who feeds us for spiritual refreshment and strength. It is God’s Word that we are to "hear, read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest . . . that by patience of comfort of Thy Holy Word we may embrace, and ever hold fast, the blessed hope of everlasting life" which God has given us in Christ Jesus. (Collect for the Word). If you desire to grow stronger in your faith, if you want to more fully and faithfully follow your Lord Jesus Christ, if you want His life and His light to shine through you in your family and in all your relationships, all these things come through a study of the Word of God. We invite you to join one of our many Bible Study groups to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. As our God causes the earth to grow, bloom, and blossom during the summer months, why not let His word of truth bring about the same growth in your heart and soul? Join a Bible study and see what God will do!

Sunday Adult Bible Classes Pastor Bender" Having finished looking at the Word of God and what it teaches us regarding Holy Baptism, in the month of March we will begin looking at the teachings of a few different denominations and their teaching on the important doctrine of Holy Scripture. We will take a look at what the following church bodies teach about Baptism: the Roman Catholic Church; the Presbyterian Church, the Baptist Church, the Assemblies of God, and the Salvation Army. In his letter to the Ephesians, the apostle Paul encourages us to take the "Sword of the Spirit" which is the Word of God in order to do battle against evil and falsehood. As we grow to know what almighty God has told us in His Word, we are able to stand firm on His Truth and identify false doctrine. Join your brothers and sisters in Christ to grow in faith, trusting all that God has done for YOU!
Also, don’t forget the fellowship time on the first Sunday of the month—with donuts, juice, and coffee! Come on down and get to know better your church family. Come on down and get to know better your church family.
Sunday Morning Study "Is God Listening?" by Pastor Latzke Pastor Latzke continues to lead this Sunday-morning small group Bible study looking at the book "Is God Listening? Making Prayer a Part of Your Life" by Dr. Andrew Steinmann. We will be taking a look at Biblical examples and models for different types of prayers. By taking a look at these prayers from Scripture, we can learn to feel comfortable with our own prayers and trust that God is always listening. You can join this study at any time. It meets from 9:30 – 10:15 am in the Conference Room.

Wednesday Morning Bible Class l The Gospel of Matthew is the Book of the Bible we are currently studying. During the month of March we will finish with chapter 6 and begin chapter 7. Jesus gets us to ponder what we "treasure" in life, for where our treasure is, there also we find our heart. He also has wonderful instruction to guard us against worry. There is a wonderful group of brothers and sisters in Christ who gather for the study of God’s Word each Wednesday. If you are available on Wednesday mornings, why not join the class? We meet at 9:30 and we pray, study the word, and some of the group then heads off to an early lunch. What wonderful fellowship.
Wednesday Evening Study In his book, "When the Game Is Over, It All Goes Back in the Box", John Ortberg helps us address biblical answers to the game of life. All the tokens, game pieces and prizes are left behind when we walk away from the table. The only real "winnings" we claim and keep are our own souls and the love we have for Christ and each other. This study meets on Wednesday evenings in the Gathering Room from 6:00-6:50 pm. If you have questions or need additional information, please contact Dave or Susan Holzgraefe (434-8421).

Men’s Bible Breakfast
In March, Friday morning Men’s Bible Breakfast will be continuing to look at the theme of "rest" provided by God in the Old Testament. This month we will be taking a look at the words of some of the prophets. The prophets in the Old Testament were often called to speak God’s judgment against the people for their sins, but they were also called to speak comforting words regarding God’s grace and love for his people, specifically in terms of the coming Messiah. Join us to take a look at how God provided rest for his people even in times of conflict and tumult through men like Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Micah. The group gathers between 6:15 and 6:30 am in the Family Life Center. All men are welcome to attend!
